house moms

Do all sororities on campus have a house mom? And if not, what would require a house to have one? What are the pros/ cons of having one? Do they enforce rules strictly?

Every house has a house mom, I think, but her role is more of a supervisor than a mother. They work for the house or FHC to make sure everyone is behaving and that the house is being taken care of/in good condition. My house mom is lovely and I consider her a friend, but there are many things I wouldn't go to her with in the interest of not getting in trouble. Relationships between girls in the house and house moms vary widely.
