Look at all the chapters' websites first and find something intriguing to talk about. Small talk is just important the first few days and then girls are trying to see whether you fit in the chapter and what you bring to it.

1. Care less about a certain weight or hair color and focus on being confident and comfortable in your body. That's SO much more important.
2. Think about the qualities you would want in someone you're talking to for the first time and portray those. The girls who like you will call you back, and the girls who don't will cut you (and that's just a sign that that's not the house for you).
3. Don't psych yourself out too much. Sometimes you'll get cut from houses that you really liked and you just have to move on and put on your best face for the next houses.
4. Be yourself. So many girls are fake during rush and being real is a breath of fresh air for us actives.

you can talk about the weather without complaining... you can say its weird or a new experience or an interesting experience. literally no one likes some complaining negative girl... if the girl i was talking to was like "i hate rush and i hate small talk", i'd be like well she probably hates this conversation, feel pretty uncomfortable and drop her. but if a girl jokingly was like "well its interesting, for sure a different experience" and laughed, id be like well this girl is honest and funny. because not many people like recruitment honestly but its more about how you deal with social situations.

Be nice and polite to everyone! Word travels VERY fast and everyone has a friend in every house. If you're rude at all you run the risk of getting kicked out of rush and gaining a bad reputation! Make a good impression everywhere you go.
If you're at a house you're not particularly interested in, be polite and focus on making a new friend or having a good conversation. If the conversation is really that awkward, remember that it'll be over in about 30 minutes. All of the girls work incredibly hard to make rush happen and there is nothing more disheartening than a girl coming into a house and being bratty and rude. Don't be that girl.
