for girls looking at this site for rush purposes

by:

Hey girls, I know this is a stressful topic so I wanted to ease your minds if you're on this site freaking out about rush. Here are some things to keep in mind that I wish I had known last year:
1) Don't starve yourselves this summer, while rush is superficial yes, don't acquire an eating disorder just to please people. I have many friends struggling from it currently and its not worth risking your health. All shapes and sizes are in EVERY house. what makes a house beautiful and fun is diversity.
2) There are no bad houses. PLEASE choose a house based on who you know you can see yourself going out and having a good time with. If you choose a house based on rank alone it's possible you'll end up without a strong bond with the rest of your pledge class and then you'll just be unhappy. If its happens to be a "top tier" great! and if it's not thats also great!
3) No matter what house you're in-employers don't care-i have even been told explicitly to not put it on my resume. So keep in mind that if you're not in a top house NOBODY is going to care in 4 years. also keep in mind that if you ARE in a top house nobody will care in 4 years.
4) People in other houses are friends. If you are lucky enough to come to school with some of your highschool friends but end up in different houses, you will most likely stay friends. Panhellenic support is important because it creates a stronger and more prestigious greek community overall which will help in the long run.
