Rush at USC is very competitive and exhausting. You'll be rushing with 750-800 girls (at the end only half get bids bc girls drop, etc). But if you go through the process the right way then you'll end up at the right house for you. The reason that i believe only half get placed is because a huge number of girl only want the top houses and when they dont get invited back they drop.
FR starts with a general info session at bovard where you meet your recruitment counselors. This year there will be 2 convo days and 10 houses to visit (SDT is doing convo days but not all of formal). Each day you will visit 5 houses where you go and meet the girls from the house. Off of this when you leave on the second day you meet with your RC and you rank the houses in order of preference for you. Then the houses do the same. If youre a freshman or a sophomore you usually get invited back in up to 6 houses but if youre a junior you get invited back to two houses. At this round everyone gets invited back

To at least one house but girls will drop bc their too choice didnt invite them back. This round is house tours and this year its two days. After this round you meet your recruitment counselor and rank your top 4 choices or less if you were invited back to less. Than you get your sheet the next morning to see who invited you back. About 2/3 of girls will stay in this round bc again girls drop bc they dont get their top choice. Slideshow show day you visit the houses and get to see their history. After this you go back and pick your top 2 houses for preference. Here is where girls get dropped from the houses you either get invited back by 2, 1 or none. Most girls wont go if the only house they have left is axo so theyll drop. After pref you rank your choice of which one youd like to be in and on bid night you find out what house picked you which could be your first or second choice. Then the girls from your new house pick you up at leavey and everyone runs to the row to celebrate

Yes be open minded about the houses and dont go by reputation. Also, dress to impress. Rush at USC is almost as competitive as southern schools. When youre in convos with the girls that are rushing you try to be relaxed and show your true colors. Girls in all houses are very different so dont be intimidated. Also, never name drop or bring up fraternities or anything of that sort bc you never know who these girls know. Good luck!

I know this all is anonymous, but you really shouldn't be talking to PNMs. Girls, if you're interested in joining a sorority, 1. GET OFF OF HERE (but like actually) and 2. Go to the Panhellenic website www.uscpanhellenic.com/recruitment). Dirty rushing isn't fair to anyone, so let's keep everything fair and square.

Lilly Pulitzer isn't big here. Like, at all.
For Convo Days: Dress how YOU would dress to a brunch at a nice hotel with extended family. So...if that's white pants and a floral top with wedges, or a sundress with sandals, whatever. It's all about who you are. Do your hair and makeup, but do your hair and makeup how you normally style it, maybe nicer. If you don't do hot curling irons and natural makeup (as in you're more of an eyeliner girl than a bare-faced girl), then don't do it for recruitment!
Each round gets more formal. Be yourself, but respect it like a dress code but dress individually within the dress code. You know? So house tours even a nice pair of pants would be not in the dress code. But a dress or a top and skirt would be ok. The style, however, up to you. Slideshow, a dress. Pref, a nicer dress, like a classy afternoon date (so much less formal than semi-formal, but still the most dressed up out of the days.)
I suggest heels only after house tours
