I predict:

DG and Kappa will remain as the top two houses, but attract VERY different girls within the top selection...which will make it even more difficult to judge who is better than the other. In reality they'll both be #1, but different.

Theta might benefit from above actually, and they do rush well. So they'll get a top selection of girls who are looking for status but don't fit the DG or Kappa mold. While past PCs have been mediocre, Kappa/DG division might help Theta get strong sloppy seconds...

Pi Phi will also benefit from the "top selection of girls who are looking for status but don't fit the DG or Kappa mold" but to a lesser extent than Theta. Will also get the very best of the non-hot ticket PNMs.

Alpha Phi will get right after Pi Phi the rest of the non-hot ticket PNMs, and also the best of the middle tier type girls. So a solid PC but not enough to overtake Pi Phi (perhaps almost equal it, it is getting closer) or be a top house, but a solid improving house anyways

Tridelt and ADPi are a toss-up, but it looks like ADPi might get a PC just strong enough to move up past Tridelt, although their juniors/seniors aren't as strong as Tridelt's yet. Strong PNMs who aren't top tier material and are dropped by Alpha Phi will be split into these two houses, so they'll be pretty equal after FR.

Gamma Phi and SDT...it's interesting SigDelt is only doing Convos. Girls who are interested might end up in another house (ADPi/Tridelt?). GPhiB has more girls but isn't moving anywhere, SigDelt is rising. PNMs may prefer the longstanding house, others may be more curious to join a house with potential...but would only be able to if they fell through the cracks of FR. SDT will definitely attract sophomores/juniors who fell through the cracks. COB, new house w/o house mom, new location, no house rules could give them some real hidden gems and distance themselves from Gamma Phi's girlier image.

Gamma Phi will crosspref w AXO. AXO will bid the rest, half will show up.

Definitely agree with the last 3 or 4 posts - like that people are getting real and not attacking or falsely promoting any houses. Just telling it how it is.

Definitely. I do think (or hope) most people know that what goes on in this sidebar is at least a little more reliable than the individual rankings at right.

I mean to clarify one thing, and to current students it sounds picky but it's an important point for PNMs (who shouldn't be on here, but you know how it is).

Gamma Phi and Sig Delt are definitely middle tier houses. Below Tridelt and ADPi to be sure, but they have certainly distinguished themselves to be beyond bottom houses. Gamma Phi has fallen but due to rep still mixes with some pretty decent frats. SigDelt has certainly earned a move up from beyond the bottom tier.

Just wanted to make that distinguishment. Not to lessen your words because I agree with all of it, but you know how terrified PNMs are of, especially of "bottom" houses, and ADPi, Tridelt, Gamma Phi, and SigDelt all have great things to offer, besides the top/upper house of course

This is true. I know PNMs are always scared of bottom houses. I feel like although Gamma Phi and SDT are lower tier houses they are nowhere near bottom status like AXO. Especially since Gamma Phi is a longstanding house with a decent rep and SDT is rising in the ranks.

Good point! There really are no BOTTOM houses at USC, they're all good. The best part about USC too is that it doesn't define you - no one will think you're less hot or fun or smart or nice if you're in a traditionally upper or lower tier house. It's so true how scared PNM's get and they definitely shouldn't be, because at USC your house doesn't define you in the way it can at some Southern schools.

Top Tier:
Kappa/DG

Theta (separated to emphasize difference but still top)

Upper tier:
Pi Phi/APhi-like many have said Pi phi is better with APhi still improving

Middle tier:
Tridelt/ADPi--tridelt has slipped and ADPi has improved

Lower tier
Gamma phi/ SDT--the first still better but slipping and SDT still improving

Bottom:
AChiO-great girls with united sisterhood

As everyone else has said these are the true rankings. A lot could change next year with the middle/lower tiers but all the houses are great. You've just got to pick the right one for you.

DG gets bashed, Kappa is blamed. If Pi Phi is bashed, A Phi is blamed. and vice versa. you girls should stop bashing and blaming each other and just be happy you are part of one of the best Greek systems in the nation
