sororities
by: CuriousI am maybe transfering to USC next year and was wondering the chances of getting into a sorority as a junior.

You will most likely get into a house, but probably not as good of a house as you would if you were a freshman or even a sophomore. It's different for everyone, but the best house I saw a junior get into this year was Pi Phi. Tri Delt, AXO and AGD also took juniors. There could have been other houses too, but these are the ones I know of for sure. Hope this helps :)

Hello! I actually rushed as a junior this semester and ended up joining a sorority I really like. Your chances of getting into a sorority as a junior are high - but your chances of getting into your top choice are much lower than if you were a freshman or sophomore (basically what ":)" said). Along with the houses that the above comment listed, I know Gamma Phi and Adpi also took juniors. Juniors are decided on from a completely different list as freshmen and sophomores, and juniors don't count toward the house's quota, so you will have to try harder/be more impressive.

You should know that most sororities have only so many incoming spaces to fill for a pledge class-- around 60 for most of the houses. So even though Juniors don't count against their 60 quota, houses will always prefer Freshmen, first and foremost, and then sophomores. Some houses don't even take many sophomores. The reason for this is they ideally want members for 4 years, who will likely live in the house for at least one year or more and be active for 4 years. When a house accepts a PNM, they are making a bit of an investment, too, in that that person is taking up a "spot" in their org. With Junior pledges, the girl isn't going to live in the house the first year and is unlikely to want to live in the house as a Senior.

Every house took juniors, it's mandatory that they do so. Each house has to take at least 2.
