are reccomendation letters needed to rush?

How many girls that Get accepted do not have letters of rec? And what are things that better your chance of getting accepted?

My friend and I both got recs to all the top houses and were cut after the first day. Really won't help you if you just don't click with the girl you're talking to.

Letters of rec don't matter at all, unless it's like from the national president of the sorority or something.
