transferring chapters

I'm hoping to transfer to USC next fall (I'll be a junior) from another 4-year university. I'm currently very involved in my sorority here, but it isn't a top house on campus like it is at USC. How difficult is it to be accepted as a transfer? Is there a chance the house won't even allow me to affiliate, even if I'm a legacy?

You'll be just fine. The only time they ever don't let girls affiliate is if they are a serious standards risk, nothing else really matters. Good luck with the transfer process! I transferred as a junior and absolutely love being involved here, you'll do great!

Think it depends on the house. I will say that some girls (spring admits and transfers) very purposefully pledged a house in their "temporary" school (that isn't very good at the "temporary" school) with the idea of subsequently affiliating with a top house at USC.

But that has nothing to do with whether or not the house at USC is going to allow them to affiliate.... I know several people who transfer in and don't fit the "stereotype" of their sorority here, but they were still able to affiliate and make a seemingly smooth transition.
