I was in a mid-tier sorority and my now very serious boyfriend was in a mid-tier frat at USC. We both beat out so-called "top-tier" people for great jobs. Our lives are "top-tier," in the sense that we both make great money, do lots of fun things together in LA and we just couldn't be happier. Join where you feel a connection-- this site is generally not a good site for trustworthy advice. Enjoy your time at USC and shed the middle school/high school mentality of being "popular." While I was "popular" on the Row, I know of many former "top-tier" girls and guys who live at home, don't even have a job and are basically directionless.

USC IS a great school. What I was saying as "So Wrong" is that what tier house you are in, or even if you are in a house at all doesn't define you-- once you graduate, employers and others simply don't care. What matters is that you get good grades and internships/jobs and are involved on campus. Then you will get a good job! And you'll also feel self-fulfilled! So forget all this ranking nonsense and join a sorority whose girls you feel a connection to. That said, shallow as the Row is, it is kinda fun. And if you don't like any of the sororities after rushing, not to worry-- there are tons of clubs, orgs and things to do on campus. Good luck, keep the faith and Fight On!

That's not true considering the fact that most people at USC don't end up marrying each other...
