rushing next year and wondering what my chances at kappa are...my parents are pretty rich (20 mil home) and i LOVE to party/im outgoing but im indian so idk if ill be considered hot enough...so will that hurt my chances?
also anyone saying not to be superficial im not trying to be but realistically it seems like parents wealth matters....

There are Kappa's that are dark. If you are rich and skinny, I would say that you still have a good shot. Also, ignore the people in the post saying you're being superficial. The entire process of rushing is going to be somewhat inherently superficial. If it wasn't, then this website wouldn't exist.

and to the people who said that i was being superficial, im sorry that you feel that way but your impression of me is really only based off a few sentences on the internet....
also to clarify i am definitely trying to go in with an open mind & considering houses aside from kappa but one of my best friends is a kappa at another school & my older sister is a theta there and doesnt love it so i guess i naturally was curious about kappa over some of the other sororities

Don't get too set on one house before rush! But your reasons for wanting to know more about Kappa make sense - sorry people are being rude to you on here.
Let me just say that all the houses are unique and have pluses and minuses, so remember to follow your heart during rush. Also, don't believe all the stupid people saying that Kappa doesn't accept you unless you have x amount of money or whatever - my roommate last year was on almost a full ride because her family is so poor and she is in Kappa and loves it (and she can only afford it because Kappa offers help covering dues when a sister has financial issues so that she can stay, which I think several other houses do as well and is really nice).
As far as being Indian goes, I know Kappa has at least one Indian girl and they have several girls with dark skin. It doesn't matter. Let's be real - you can be a hottie with any skin color, so as long as you're hot, fun, and cool, your chances at Kappa and all the other top houses are pretty great

DG and Kappa are interchangeable... Don't kid yourself just because Kappa got a good pledge class for once. You are forgetting Kappa PC 12

DG has been struggling with below average PCs for at least 4 years. I know several real cute DGs that end up crying after every rush because they don't understand what went wrong.

granted she hasnt said anything that suggests she should either but it seems crazy to cut a girl because all this thread shows that that she's indian, rich and curious about rush

they may have a few(emphasis on few) cute girls in PC12 but are you completely ignoring the fact that they had to give out snap bids because no one wanted them? thats a fact. dg SWEPT that year

What I think is funny is how if she hadn't put how much her parents house was worth the "pretty rich" wouldn't have told people what she meant and everyone knows kappa has a rep for caring about wealth...
It's a lose lose...people would have said "pretty rich isn't good enough for kappa"...she just shouldn't have posted about the wealth. Everyone talks about it but the posting of an actual number screwed her

You sound like a thoughtful person who wants to be accepted and loved for who and what you are, OP, so why would you be interested in solely the snobbiest, least accepting house? Many Row people don't like Kappa at all.
