The law of diminishing returns...Writing is on the wall and Phi Sig has no choice if they want to survive.
This is the biggest rush in years by numbers of rushees alone (Why? - see below). Frats are going to feast on the numbers and you will see huge pledge classes especially with the big frats. Spring rush will undoubtedly see significantly lower numbers of rushees than normal and thus smaller pledge classes. PC numbers directly equate to dollars as the rushee transforms pledge to multi-year paying members. If you can't freshman now and someone else does, you lose the opportunity to transform them into paying members in the spring.
Why Big Rushee Numbers: The publicity put forward by SC as failed and actually promoted non-affiliated rush. The scare tactics along with DT and LA Times articles are only creating more interested guys. Talking with kids in the dorms, this is considered a "golden" time to rush. The excitement is palpable and real for non-affiliated frats. Not so much for afflicted frats like Phi Sig.

There are a few hangers on in Phi Sig that thought the top sororities were going to be forced into social with Phi Sig. However, the girls and national sororities already weighed in that unaffiliated frats are perfectly acceptable to have events with. As a result, Phi Sig will remain where they are socially.
