Lots of guys come to SC following their dream to rush Lambda. Yes, it only works out for few of the top rushees but it's likely the largest draw for guys and girls looking to connect with Lambda

I'll take a smart, So-cal tan, well-connected USC grad over a "genius" pale, nerd from the east. just sayin'

all Im gonna say is:

Princeton produced Jeff Bezos (engineering/cs major)
Penn produced Elon Musk (physics and finance major)
Harvard/Stanford/MIT produced countless top 50 billionaires in tech, science, finance, etc
Yale and Columbia produced countless politicians and diplomats

..... USC hasn't produced anyone of high calibre in industries outside film and media

bro I go here and I will admit the schools in the top 20 except maybe CMU, Reed, Georgia Tech and Harvey Mudd all have exceptionally stronger alumni networks than us. the top 10 schools on this list have insane networks and much higher percentage of brilliant students in the undergrad student body. we just need to stop gaslighting ourselves. usc is still an enviable school to be in.

any of those state schools have stronger alumni networks than the privates, give me a break. Just look at endowments and the latest fundraising campaigns chig.

i agree Emory, WashU, UCSD, etc are hard pass... UCLA and Berkeley are same tier as us but with more kids so pass... Only yes to JHU, Duke, Northwestern, Stanford, MIT and the Ivies, though honestly Cornell would be a pass for me

I wouldn't pick an Ivy over USC being a STEM major. I got accepted to MIT and Cal Tech, and chose USC over both. I wanted a life as well as an education and I have no regrets.

I didn't apply to Stanford because I didn't think I'd have a shot, but I would have taken it over USC.
