The Sad Reality of the Row
by: Observer
It’s time for everyone in the Greek community to take a step back. Put the rankings, the competition, the drama aside for just a moment.
Greek life is literally being killed at this school. With AEPi done and Lambda threatened, the number of frats continue to dwindle at USC. Frats are kicked off so much that we’ve started to accept it as normal. Even if this makes your house seem “better.” This is terrible for the row.
The administration is slowly trying to squeeze Greek houses until there are so few left, and so many restrictions, that no one bothers joining. This is the strategy USC is employing. To silently kill Greek life from within without actually having to say it. To make it so boring that it just fades into irrelevancy.
If you’re in a house here, be active, be aware, and make sure you play by the rules and avoid risk. The community can’t afford to keep losing houses. Don’t play into what the admin wants.
Honestly, we’re in what I see as the last hurrah of traditional Greek life. Times are a changin, so enjoy while it lasts. Let’s not make the demise come any faster.
