tri delt or pi phi? legacy to both which is better
by: TransferI'm transferring to SC in the spring, and I'm going to rush when I get here, but I'm curious which house is better: tri delt or pi phi? My mom was tri delt but my aunt was pi phi. im a legacy to both. I asked some of my Greek friends at SC and they say that they're pretty similar.. But that tri delt is rising and pi phi is slipping. Which one has a better sisterhood and reputation? Thanks in advance.

From what I've heard, the retention rate of Pi Phi's new pledge class is bad. Like half of them have dropped, and within reason. The actives were crying when their new pledge class came running, because they we were so disappointed in Fall 13. That being said, they are so pretty cool Pi Phis, but plenty of weird or crazy ones.
As for Tridelt, they have a pretty good sisterhood since they don't seem to care about reputation as much. I see plenty of them say hi or hang out together. They have some pretty cute and fun/funny girls, but I have heard that some are weird.
Bottom line is that it depends on which house you feel most comfortable in during rush. Dont base the house just on one girl you meet, but at least a few. Hope this helps!

Why even focus in on just your two "legacy" houses? Your mom and aunt were in college a long time ago and even if they both went to USC, things change over time. Not to mention that if they were in non USC chapters of their houses, its waaaaay different. Just go through Recruitment and you will see where you feel at home.

pi phi did badly this year. they chose no so attractive girls, but also girls who have very bad personalities and don't join the greek system for the right reasons. the previous years they chose really nice/down to earth and attractive people, this year they went down hill in their attempt to move up in the tiers but it backfired. they were very judgmental this year. go on college confidential and they have more details on houses that are more accurate too.

Pi Phi and DG both had bad PCs. There are so many "kitchen girls" in DG they have plans to expand the kitchen this summer.

Ok literally, both these houses are great. For some reason people come on greek rank and try to tear down pi phi, idk if people all just gang up on the house or if it's really one girl/group/house doing it but in reality the top frats still do their events with them, they have a stunning physical house, and their members are beautiful and nice. No matter how much smack people talk on here, that does not change.
Tridelt also has pretty and friendly girls, a nice house and a large group of members. You can't go wrong with either.
But also give the other houses a chance.

Honestly.. pi phi is going down FAST and tridelt did better than usual this year.. I'd say go for tridelt. they are much more genuine, fun, and have a good sisterhood. that said, you're bound to make friends in either house but I just personally would never go pi phi after how badly they've done the past two years. they have an awful rep and so many girls in their last pc dropped. also the older mems are unhappy with how bad theyve been doing (girls crying on bid night) so there is a huge gap between the older pi phis and the newer ones
