i want to go through formal next year as a junior.
by: Late SophHello, I never really knew all that much about Greek life - I mean I knew what it was and such but never really was exposed to it until this year when my roommates (also sophomores) rushed. They seem to be having a great time in their sororities and it really makes me want to rush next year. Is it really that hard to get in as a junior? My roommates told me there are at least 5 juniors in each of their houses, but how many juniors rush? This is something I really want to be a part of now that I know more about it. Also, if I did rush how could I better my chances of getting a bid? My roommates said even girls with friends in the houses don't always get junior bids and I only really know them and a few of their friends. Thanks!

You're all morons. Every house takes juniors in spots reserved for juniors only. There are girls who get in not knowing anyone in the house, even top houses. AXO/SigDelt are not even the houses with the highest accepted amount of juniors this year. Not sure why either people are so ignorant and pretend to know what they're talking about - either that it they're trying to discourage juniors from rushing, which is stupid.

Don't rush as a junior especially if you are a well known junior. Chances are there is at least one girl who doesn't like you for whatever reason and if you find out that they had to argue over you it's really embarrassing. People who did not know you before will then know your name because it was brought up during rush especially if you are on slideshow.
