Kappa, Tridelt, and Chi O are strong sororities nationally. ADPI and Alpha Phi are strong in certain areas.
Sigma Chi, Beta, SAE, ATO and Sigma Nu are strong fraternities nationally.
Of course, each fraternity or sorority is strong in its own way. These sororities and fraternities just tend to be good (in terms of reputation and philanthropic work and almuni interaction) across the country. Everyone has their own opinions.

Tri Delt is HUGE. Theta is only strong in certain schools, DG sucks everywhere except here, and Alpha Phi is literally one of the biggest on the west coast.

Right, like I said Tri Delt is top tier. Alpha Phi isn't strong in the South where greek life is the strongest and doesn't really exist on the East Coast either, it is huge only in CA. Delta Gamma is in a lot of places and does not suck, middle tier and top tier at most and bottom at few. It is hard to judge reputation. But look at: the school, the size of the greek system, where they fit in the ranks at that school, and how many members they have nationally (this is big in terms of Alumni support as well)

It reformatted my comment. The places without commas are the tier breaks. None of it really matters, all except the last 8 are on a lot of campuses and have large alumni networks.

Chi Omega doesn't even exist at USC and they are the largest national sorority (most members). Hard to measure best national reputation. Kappa is great here, but just folded at another CA school-- Tri Delt is good here and bottom at UCLA. Need to join where you fit at THAT school -- not somewhere else.
For guys, Phi Psi is good here and hardly exists anywhere else. SAE is big in the south and falling apart here.
