letter of recommendation?

I'm rushing a very competitive fraternity to get into at USC, and I will have a couple of notable alumni write letters of recommendation for me. They donate to the chapter and have a lot of influence. Will this help me out come spring rush?

A man doesn't need letters of recommendation to join a quality frat. Maybe you need lots of letters?
