is everything about money here?
by: Worried.I really want to rush a sorority, but I read somewhere on this site that sororities judge you by who you know and what family you come from and that the sororities here Google your last name and what house you live in on Google maps. I came from a single mom and two grandparents and we just lived in a small town. One of those towns where not everyone in the whole town knows each other, but everyone in the neighborhood knows each other. It's like a little suburb. I went to public school, but It's one of the best public schools in my county. And I lived in a house with only 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (3 if you count the one in the masters). Do I have a chance at getting into a respected sorority?

Sorry but there is no sorority welfare at SC in the top tier. Try the lower houses.
I fully expect some blow hard girl to follow me up with you need to find the "right place", "best fit" or some other BS.
Your best bet, assuming your are attractive, is to find a rich boy to take you away from your families poverty.
Best luck!

As long as you don't want to be a Kappa, you're fine. KKG has members check out backgrounds including Google maps before recruitment. KKG also makes new members weigh in. If you weigh too much, no chapter dinner for you. But you will know in advance if Kappa wants you because they dirty rush and will take you to lunch over the summer. And how do I know this? I used to be a KKG before I dropped. Oh and they haze too. "Know Kappa-- no hazing" is such a joke for their slogan.
