theta'$ due$

by:

Dear Theta,

Thanks for misleading me. I specifically asked about your dues during recruitment BEFORE I accepted a bid. The girl I had pref night told me the wrong amount (maybe she didn't know for sure, but she shouldn't have made something up!). Now I find out the dues are twice what she told me! I would have ranked my other pref house first had I known the truth about dues.

I have since found out Theta did the same thing last year and that girl ended up dropping Theta after she pledged because the dues were too high.

That's OK that you are one of the most expensive sororities, but at least be honest about it during recruitment. Now I'll probably have to drop. I could have been in a different house that didn't cost so much and now you're going to lose a new member.

Thank you and good-bye!

I'm sorry your Daddy doesn't love you enough to provide for a quality sorority experience.

Maybe you should consider another venue for a social life more in keeping with economic status?

Best of luck!

Troll

First of all, the RCs were ear that they had the dues list available for viewing, and if you didn't know that fact was in your rush passport under "dues."
Second, Theta is not one of the most expensive, if you actually are ranking them by cost
Third, the differences in dues from house to house are not significant enough to make a difference per house.

This is not from a troll. This really happened and I know the girl it happened to last year! She was great, but she dropped Theta b/c of dues.

then she would have dropped anywhere, the dues aren't that different.

Dear New Member, you need to set a meeting with the chapter CFO and discuss your situation. There are options that may make it possible for you to work out a plan. Be sure you speak with the CMO as well.
