alpha gam?

Honestly, it's totally up in the air right now.

The only reason it wouldn't be top/middle is if the rest of the sororities were invested in putting it down. Rankings are all about perception and if they try hard enough to convince everyone it's a bad sorority, it can have a bad rep.

In reality, soooo many girls dropped out of rush for not getting houses by wanted, and some of them just slipped through the cracks rather than being weird or odd looking. If enough normal, cute girls join, they could have a good spot on the row, especially since they have a house...

So as of now, it's kind of early to tell. On one hand, theyre new and lost a lot of girls to formal, but onthe other, they have a house and could get a solid founding class.

I say go for it, see what girls are there and then decide whether or not to go alpha gam

Three hundred girls dropped out of rush, so if a bunch of those look at AGD, they have a chance getting a solid group. Now is the time for some girls to make a difference. Hopefully, they are lining up some good socials.

Agree with Sister. It's all perception. If people can convince others that Pi Phi fell out of top 4 (which they had established for a long time) there's no reason alpha gam couldn't be a top house, or upper middle. No doubt it's a risk tho. Social will determine a lot

Should be good because they're strong nationally and part of the original 3 sororities of the Syracuse Triad. Have strong colonies generally and their house was nice before all the renovations, so it should be even better with them. Won't dethrone Kappa or DG by any means, but at best could be at Theta/Pi Phi/Alpha Phi level and at worst would still be above SDT with the house

I transferred from a school where there was a total failed colonization a few years ago where the house was literally worse than SDT (like it actually failed...it's no longer there) but then there was a really successful colonization when I was there my freshman year which some of my friends joined, so I've kind of seen/heard a lot about colonization processes and I definitely think it all just depends. Like for the second house I mentioned, they had really pretty girls (I'm not even sure if they were alumni of that house..) doing the promotion stuff, and they decorated the house reallly nice and it was just obvious they put a lot of money in the whole process. Based on what I've seen, I think AGD's going to do at least okay - I have a friend who's in it at Oregon State and it's a top house there so who knows!

A few of my friends who dropped rush and a friend who just didn't ever go through formal recruitment are thinking about joining and they are all great girls

I mean it depends on the others who decide to join too obviously but this early in the game I would say it'll be a solid upper middle at least

Ignorant statement, because even if the "top" houses and "bottom" houses switched pledge classes nothing would have changed. It's not like all the self-ranking houses would suddenly say "oh, they have a better pledge class. Guess they're #1 now!" I'm in what most people consider an upper-middle house and it's not like our pledge class changes anything. we stay the same because we're not all obsessed with convincing others we're better than the houses "above" us
Most girls had 2 houses on pref night and would have fit in with both of them, and probably a few houses beyond that.
Stop trying to put alpha gamma down because you feel threatened, they could be ANYTHING, top or bottom. It's not fair to judge before that.
