serious question

so i know on thursday night we pick the 7 houses we like best. say only 4 of those houses invite us back, but some of the houses we dropped invite us back. do we go to the houses we dropped that invited us back?

yeah you're right. so let's say you get invited back to 4 houses and 2 of the houses you dropped, you will go to all of the houses that invited you back for a total of 6

There are only four houses PNMs should accept bids from. Any other bids should be passed on.

It's top 4 or pass!

Lets just call each house A, B, C,...all the way to J. If you list to drop H, I, and J in the order "1. J, 2. H, 3. I" as a house from A-G does not invite you back and if J invites you back, they will be on your schedule. If two houses from A-G don't invite you back, J and H will be on their schedule if they invite you back. Or maybe you'll have J and I if H doesn't invite you back. And so on. That's why Panhellenic is careful to say "up to" 7 houses because it is a mutual selection process

simpler way of looking at this is that your choices don't matter unless more than 7 houses want you back. Then if more than 7 want you, you won't go back to the ones you dropped.
