rush without being rich

I’m a transfer and I want to rush, but I read that the top sororitys only let in rich people. Do DG and Kappa expect people to buy expensive outfits and be able to afford crazy spring breaks? Like would you be able to keep up with your sorority if you’re not rich? I mean I can go out and I have money but I read that DG makes you buy $500 sneakers as initiation. Also what are the semester dues Bc they obv don’t show it online
