can sororities see if you're on financial aid?

by:

During rush, are there ways which sororities can find out if you're on financial aid? And how much does wealth play into rush at USC anyway?

The question was about whether or not being on financial aid will get us cut from houses during rush, not about being able to afford being in a sorority. Can anyone comment on the RUSH aspect?

many houses will take it into account because they only want rich little daddy's girls that can afford the dues that are more than double other houses
Kappa, DG and Theta always ask what your parents do but sometimes in a more sly way like were you in NCL? Have you ever been to Europe or another really expensive vacation? what is your favorite clothing store? in the end its up to you whether you want a house that only wants your daddy's wallet

If it makes you feel better, they can't find out your medical records. So they won't know about the VD you got last summer.

My house doesn't care whether or not you're on financial aid. We care if we like you or not.

I don't know what other houses do or think.

it only matters if you can pay dues or not. sorority dues at usc are very expensive and sororities do not want to extend bids to girls who will drop because they are unable to pay dues.

This question and these comments are exactly why people think sorority girls are vain, vapid, materialistic, and fake 😑😑😑 For anyone that's looking into joining a sorority, don't let these comments make you think badly of Greek life. My best advice to you would be to avoid joining your freshman year. Instead get to know the girls, befriend them, and learn as much as you can about them as individuals, as an organization, and get more information on the sorority and what they're about. If you're still convinced the sorority life is right for you, or have realized that you really click with one and know you can afford it, then go through formal recruitment in the fall your sophomore year! What the person above said is the advice you should take. When you go through rush, the house will more than likely tell you what dues will cost. If you CANNOT afford them, drop. Not only does it suck for the sorority to accept a girl who can't afford dues, as well as the PNM's that did NOT get a bid because you did, but it sucks for you when you can't afford to pay. It's awkward for everyone. If you can't afford it, don't join. If the people in the sorority mean that much to you, you can still be friends without being a member.
