why are the lowest tier houses the nicest?

I don't understand why some of the nicest fraternities and sororities are rated the lowest. Like Theta is a tof four sorority but they are ranked the lowest of the four even they are the nicest. The same with Chi Phi, as they ranked in the lowest tiers and have genuinely nice guys.

What gives?

Because lower tier houses are more inclusive and inclusive people are nicer than exclusive people by definition.

The guys and girls are more secure in who they are. They don’t have the same fears to protect their image and “status” so they are able to be nice to everyone instead of just the approved people in “top tier” shallow groups.

Chi phi guys are nice—they also don’t really party, have a super small amount of members, a lame house, and really bad sorority relations. Truth is, guys are usually rushing for reasons other than meeting “nice guys.” I don’t even think this is a bad thing. Props to chi phi for being nice, but other qualities of frats are more appealing.
