by: nicHow much worse can this scandal make our school look? I think the estimate posted earlier today by the Financial Times that the value of the SC degree has declined in value by 50-60% due to the scandal and years and years of mismanagement by administration and the board. Where is our new President? Why haven't any Board members resigned? As the trial is scheduled and more details emerge our poor school will look even worse than it does now? Does this mean our degrees will be virtually worthless? We are on a ship without a Captain OR a crew!

I don’t think that the yield rate went down, I think that the admissions office started to treat the spring admits and appeals as a waitlist while simultaneously admitting fewer students—in an effort to avoid last years housing problems. So not so much kids not wanting to go here, but admissions being strategic to avoid over-enrolling.
