is kappa going to do anything about their member?

Bet Kappa national is having some fun convos on this topic today! Question: kids parent cheat and bribe to get kid into school and they pledge Kappa. Should they be allowed to stay or do we ask them to leave? Curious to see where Kappa stands. The national press is going to have a field day with this situation.

Tough situation. But not sure national can avoid making a decision now that this case has global coverage. If the member knowingly lied to get into college how can a panhel organization allow them to remain a member? Kappa can hide under their desks all day long but with all the news organizations on this case eventually they will start camping out on the doorsteps of both the local chapter and national headquarters. Sad situation all around but it will have to be dealt with.

Just looked at some panhel rules and its not clear in all cases if a student is expelled that they would lose their membership automatically. It seems the houses would have to take individual action to remove the membership of the expelled student. The WaPo is all over this issue on their blog so hopefully we will have clarification tomorrow. It would be interesting if a greek organization removed the memberhsip in advance of the student being expelled from USC or another school.

Nationals have been watching this chapter for awhile now and have not done anything. They knew who they were before their became Kappa's and nothing was ever said or done. Every top Frat and Soority at USC has members and daddies with deep pockets.
