thoughts on aphi 2019?

Honestly just head over to Reddit and read the very long and quite detailed letter written by the former recruitment chair of APhi at Michigan to learn everything and anything you could possibly want to know about how this very shady organization recruits new members (most recruiting happens outside of normal recruitment periods BTW). APhi has institutionalized discrimination based on surface looks EVEN AMONGST ITS OWN MEMBERS. Chapters are instructed to haunt social media and sites like Houzz to find out where PNMS grew up and how much money their parents might have. Members are rated and only certain ratings are 'allowed' to interact with 'top potential recruits'. Members with lower ratings are sent to the kitchen and to bathroom duty and do not attend recruitment events. The entire culture of APhi revolves around surface issues and the national even maintains a large fund for its chapters to pay to have posts taken off of sites like this one. Think long and hard about whether you want to join an orgnazation like APhi. They are known nationwide as 'the house of shade' for very very good reasons.

As an APhi from another school, that is completely untrue. I literally just went to your page to see what people were saying about the scandals (my school's is blowing up). Y'all's chapter might be wack but chapters are definitely not instructed to stalk PNMs. That's not an APhi thing... it's not a thing for any sorority. Might happen in the USC chapter, but definitely not in every chapter and not from nationals

@LMFAO...guess you didn't get the memo from APhi national...not sure where you go to school but it might make sense to check with some other APhi chapters as what was in the Michigan letter is pretty standard behavior when putting together the A, B and C lists. Without SM its not so easy to do the lists as quickly as we do these days. How do you guys do your lists if you don't use SM?

Look, why is there need to roast APHI as an organization when we are strictly talking about USC here. They may have one girl in a scandal, but that doesn't define the whole entire house. Honestly, grow up and look at the girls there its an amazing group of people who are so accepting and are just fun to be around. My roommate is in aphi and i spend so much time there because i literally just like to hang with the girls. Sorry

true it doesn’t define the whole house... buttttttt by not doing anything they condone bribing for admission, and send the message to the row that they accept that kind of behavior

Well said @ummm. At a certain level the legitamacy of ANY organization, greek or otherwise, is defined by what it believes and what actions it takes to defend its beliefs. So far, we have seen zero action by APhi OR Kappa to indicate that they believe in anything other than ongoing dues collection from members that cheated their way into our school. If APhi or Kappa stand behind members that LIED and CHEATED to get into a school for which they didn't qualify and who effectively STOLE a spot that belonged to another applicant then that is telling us who APhi and Kappa are as organizations. All this has zero to do with how nice anyone at a particular house is and whether we like hanging out with them. This has to do with supporting the behavior of CHEATING, LYING and STEALING. Yes, these people involved with this scandal stole the opportunity of attending SC from another applicant. Each and every member of both APhi and Kappa have an opportunity here to stand against LYING, CHEATING and STEALING and denounce ANY MEMBER involved in this scandal. These students IMO should be expelled and at a minimum have their memberships in any organization at our school suspended. Remember, not saying anything is saying quite a lot and it tells the rest of us that aren't part of these organization who you are and what precisely you stand for! Think about it please.

Doesn't matter whether they had the best pledge class if they are morally bankrupt and stand for nothing other than surface looks. No sisterhood, no philo and weak culture. Totally toxic organization.
