mixers
by: confusedwhy can't all sororities mix with all the frats? why judge a group without giving them a real chance? just curious why it's set up this way..?

In most schools with serious greek life for the most part MOST sororities mix with most FRATS.
USC greek life has been very twisted by rankings.
For the most part WHO is in your house should be what judges what sororities you mix with, but unfortunately at USC it doesn't matter if you are a good frat, if you are RANKED below another house, you are automatically portrayed as weirdos.
As a guy with friends in almost all houses, from Tke/Sig Nu all the way to Phi sig/Phi delt, the differences between the quality of guys is almost non existent, yet there's a huge gap between what sororities those houses mix with.
Rankings and status has polluted the greek system at USC to the extreme, to the point where people care more about influencing how people rank their frat experience rather than actually caring about the actual experience itself.

There are definately differences in membership between the top fraternities/sororities and the bottom fraternities/sororities. The top frat/strats are hugely more competitive and get the best looking guys/girls bottom start/frats are just trying to survive so they bid anyone that walks into their doors. I won’t say they are all unatractive but one thing for certain a top frat/strat like Lambda Chi/Sigma Chi or Kappa/DG will not be interested in hanging out with a Bottom frat/strat

Why would the “beautiful people” in fraternities and sororities like Lambda Chi/Sigma Chi, Kappa,DG want to mix with unatractive, socially awkward, overweight people in bottom tier fraternities and sororities???. I am sure the BOTTOM tier fraternities and sororities would love to mix with HOT guys and girls in top tier fraternities but sorry ITS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN... ewee

Why doesnt PHC and IFC work together to set up a system where frats/sororitys are required to mix with a new house? Or why cant a top and a bottom sorority just have a joint mixer with a frat?? Panhellenic always preaches about the “greater Greek community” but in reality, they do nothing to promote that

There are a few sororities that have had joint mixers in the past. 2 sororities would go to 1 frat mixer. It would be a cool thing to make mandatory. Just like how its mandatory to have sister sororities every semester

If they did this, everyone would win. Frats can talk to a bigger number of girls, sororities can mix with frats that they dont normally mix with. I wish Panhellenic and IFC got more creative to address the issue. Its not that hard to do

Most houses in the Greek community are constantly social climbing, so they would support the joint mixer thing probably. These trolls most likely aren’t in greek life

It wouldn’t matter why they thought if it became a rule to have mixers with different houses.
