First of all, fraternities aren't Kappa. They don't care like that. A lot of the wealthier houses are just because they have pipelines from certain high schools. But they'll take guys who aren't wealthy if they are chill. They aren't googling your zip code.

Nothing says "poor" like flashing designer items conspicuously. Think about it. If you grew up a billionaire, you've been around wealth your whole life...you aren't impressed anymore by it and thus see no reason to flaunt it. That's why the absolute wealthiest kids at USC are ironically some of the ones who care least about it...they have nothing to prove.

It's kids trying to show off being wealthy that automatically out themselves as having a chip on their shoulder and thus look like a try hard.
