rushing sorority without letters of rec?

I'm a rising sophmore planning to rush this fall but I am not legacy and I don't have any letters of rec lined up (I honestly can't think of anyone I know who was in a sorority). Will this hurt my chances with many houses/do people care about recs?

Also - can the letters be from current members or only those who've graduated?

you don’t need letters of rec at usc. that’s only really in the south

This won’t hurt your chances at all! Rush is values based and completely about how you get along with the girls during your conversations. The VAST majority of girls rushing do not have rec letters!
