dg cob
by: So ratWhat's the story there. Was it a one time thing or are they still open. It can't be a girl that signed recruitment so is it someone that dropped out before bid day ? Is anyone else COB

It cannot be someone who signed the agreement.
That states you may not rush again until the next primary rush recruitment And I think it has to be someone who registered as a PNM by the due date. So it's someone who dropped and who DG wanted or they are under quota and COB. I know this becaise I dropped and could not rush again until formal of the next year. Though there is a box that says I decline to Sign at the time. I just thought you had to at USC after preference night

This is a well-used ploy and sadly isn't flagged as a rush violation often enough. What happens is a house tells a pnm that they will offer them COB if they drop out before or even after pref. The reason it is so evil is that this person that is dropping is on other houses lists at pref so the lists get screwed up and they lose out on a PNM. If a house is smart they can figure out what happened but its usually too late to do something by that time as the person has already pledged the house that committed the rush violation. This tactic is widely used and is now front at center as an issue at another school in CA where APhi is accused of using this tool for 4 consecutive recruitments. My bet is that knowing how ethically challenged DG is here at USC that they did something similar to this ploy and maybe got caught or not. In the case of APhi that I mentioned the house that lost pledges at pref actually went through 4 years of lists to prove their case. If DG did what I think they did, I hope they are punished as once the system loses integrity then the whole system is called into question. I hope someone is checking the lists but I'm not holding my breath for justice on this one at all as the system is broken.

Dirty rushing is usually done by houses that fit into the 'wannabe' category. They want to win at all costs so cut corners and play a dirty game. If you look at APhi across the country they fit this wannabe category at many schools. The APhis at Cal are dealing with an investigation now into dirty rushing as are the APhis at a number of other schools.

Something like this seems to be happening at ucla involving APhi as well. They got a great pledge class this year have always been #2 or 3 sorority but this time had the best class. The undisputed number 1 house kappa however, had a horrible pc. Didn’t even make quota it seems like. Could this tactic be to blame ? Nobody can figure out what happened to kappa
