Pi Phi contacted both Lambda Chi and Phi Psi because they think pairing with TKE has hurt their image... which is true.

Looks like the top tier in both fraternities and sororities have paired up. Note to rushers the ONLY fraternities and sororities considered top 3 are following it has been the same 6 for decades TKE and Pi Phi feeble attempts to claim they are in the top tier is a joke.

Fellow rushers both guys and girls, it is hard to sort through all the posts claiming who is top tier etc. This is the only litmus test needed . TOP tier fraternities ONLY pair with TOP tier sororities you will NEVER see a top ranked fraternity or sorority pairing on a important event like formal with a lower tier house. WRITE THIS IN CONCRETE THE ONLY TOP TIER FRATERNITIES AND SORORITIES ARE LAMBDA CHI ALOHA,SIGMA CHI,PHI KAPPA PSI,DELTA GAMMA,KAPPA ALPHA THETA,KAPPA KAPPA GAMMA. @Sororityview at 11:27 on August 14th is totally, totally wrong. Those of us with relatives at USC know how things have changed.

Sororities...DG/Theta/KKG being the top for decades. Nah. Around 2000-2005 +/- Pi Beta Phi was unquestionably the top sorority, and it wasn't even close. The girls looked like playboy bunnies. Different time for USC. The other two tops were DG and Kappa, roughly in that order. Theta was an up and coming sorority, historically grand but had fallen considerably, they got a new house remodel that's now their Barbie Dream House tuscan thing, and they started going up from there. Pi Phi whiffed rush in 2005 and started a descent, Theta rocked the same year and started to rise. For awhile Theta was killing DG/Kappa in rush and the three were seen as equals, but now I'd say they are a pretty firm #3.

Also, many older relatives tell me DDD was tops alongside DG/KKG/Pi Phi in the 1980s and 1990s, I can't verify that past what I've been told, but many have said it so who knows.

Now, frats. Assuming that it's always been Sigma Chi/Lambda/Phi Psi is hilarious. In that same 2000-2005 time period, Sigma Chi was a colony, and Phi Psi was like a stoner skater middle-tier house. Beta, Pike, ATO, SAE were kings of the row. Beta got kicked off and went underground, ATO fell apart, but Pike and SAE were still kings until much later. Phi Psi literally went to top house, got kicked off for a marijuana scandal, came back middle tier, and then rose again

^^^^^NOPE nobody cares what the ranks were in the 80's, 90, or 2000. The fact of the matter is there are 3 fraternities and 3 sororities considered "top tier" today and for CURRENT students who have been here probably at the very maximum of 6-8 years if they attend grad school. Those three have been the same since they were new freshmen on campus. The three fraternities are Lambda Chi Alpha, Sigma Chi, Phi Kappa Psi. The three sororities are Delta Gamma, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Kappa Alpha Theta. ANYONE that tries to claim these 6 are not "top tier" or that any other fraternity or sorority (Pi Phi, TKE) do not know what they are talking about.

So "same top houses for decades" in your OP means "same top houses for six years"?
