recommendation letters

so what's the deal w them? panhellenic says they're not necessary, but in actuality are they? if i don't know anybody who's in a sorority, should i go through the process of trying to find a friend of a friend of a friend to write me a letter, or is it not worth it?

they really don't matter that much. rec letters can only really get you past the first day, after that they really don't carry that much weight at all. what matters more is how you click with the girls you talk to
