delta zeta at usc
by: WonderingI heard talks of a new sorority coming to USC. I've been told it would be Delta Zeta. I'm excited if this is true, anyone know??

I have not heard anything about this. I don't want to rain on parades, but some things to consider:
(1) To colonize at a school, the school must declare it is open for expansion, and then sororities that are interested put together bids, which are then voted on and decided. To my knowledge, USC is not open for expansion, so if they were DZ would have to compete with other interested GLOs and it would take some time to pick who.
(2) They'd need a house, no easy feat. AGD owned the house already and rented it out for years to a business fraternity, and from there they simply ended the lease and did a big remodel. As far as I know, DZ does not own property at USC, so they'd have to find a way to purchase one of the 28th Street lots and then build a brand new house, a multi-year undertaking that would have to occur AFTER they had been chosen as the colonizing house.
(3) Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do not believe Delta Zeta was even interested the last time when AGD was picked. Maybe they were?
So, even if USC is open for expansion (read: I have not heard anything like that, and that would be public knowledge) it would take a year at least for the house to be selected, a couple years to build a brand new home...so they'd be up and running by senior year maybe? And would start out at the bottom of the row anyway.
If the colony process appeals to you, AGD I'm sure will be doing COB and there's still tons of room to add traditions, to the vibe, etc. Closest thing!

SC is currently overflowing with less than attractive girls. Time to drop the entrance requirements so we don't have to look to other schools for hot girls.
