Ok basics: great grades and super involved in HS. Legacy.

The reason why I am a 20 year freshman is, I did 18 months of international missionary work. I wanted a break in between HS and college because I had no idea what to study and well I just wanted to do it. Anyway I grew up in the San Diago and to be honest I did not think I ever wanted to be in a sorority. Well in my program I met other girls my age were going to rush when we were done, women who had just graduated and even women in their 30s and 40s who wild/good/fun times were well insane (Imagine when social media could not prove anything and it just lasted on old school film). These women were from all over the USA and even Canada. Because of this recs are not a problem. All I heard was how great could be. My mind is changed. I just want to know if being a 20 year pledge is really weird? I like to go out, have fun, and I do realize I will be with 18 year olds. In fact I'm living in traditional freshman with a friend I met in the same boat. Any opinions are welcomed!!

Good for you for a great resume, but please read the other discussion posts regarding PNM's.

There are plenty of people who transfer to USC and thus come in as 19-20 year old sophomores or juniors. You coming in as a freshman is a bit novel. Sorority houses prefer freshmen because then they hope they will have an involved, dues paying member for 4 years.

You are a little chubby. Missionary work in the third world tends to put weight on people (opposite of what you would think). If so, get yourself back to a healthy trim weight before you rush. Also, since it sounds like you are bible thumper, keep your religion to yourself if you want to get into a top house. Nothing is worse than someone who keeps droning on about people going to hell for having a good time with cute boys in top frats....
