rushing in the spring
by: TrojangirlI'm super stoked I'm going to attend USC but pretty bummed about being a spring admit because I wanted to rush in the fall. Do people who get in as spring admits still have a chance at rushing In the spring? I'm assuming it's more competitive so what are the chances someone actually gets in a sorority second semester? Thank you!

Only a few houses at SC have spring rush, and that's generally because they didn't meet quota. If you're looking to join a top house (DG, Kappa, Theta, Pi Phi, even Alpha Phi) you probably will have to wait until next fall, because they likely won't be doing spring rush. If, however, you don't care for tiers and would rather join a lower tier house, I'm sure some of them will have spring rush. Even though not a lot of people rush in the spring, the spots in the houses during spring are extremely limited, so it probably will be competitive.
In all honesty, you're probably better off waiting for next fall, but give it a try if you want anyways! You've got nothing to lose.
