reasons pretty girls get dropped for top tiers

What are some reasons that girls who seem "top tier material" in terms of looks get dropped from top tiers and end up in lower tier sororities? Eg. APhi got a few pretty blondes this year - any reasons top tier sororities didnt give them bids?

It's not just about being dropped, some girls feel intimidated in certain sororities during recruitment and as a result may feel more comfortable in other chapters. Not everyone wants to me in the so called top tier chapters.

Could be that they just clicked with other girls better. Not everyone's superficial and only cares about looks.

I mean I went through recruitment this year fully aware of which sororities were supposed be "top tier" (according to GR bc let's be real, every pnm looks at it) but I didn't even think about it. I went where I felt like I fit in and was most comfortable - and sure, it's a "middle tier" sorority but what it took was finding those girls I talked to at recruitment that I really felt at home with. It's so intimidating and looks are definitely not what everyone is looking for on either side, or what would be the point?
