alpha phi transfer!

by:

hey guys!!
im transferring to ubc from my state school and im a alpha phi here! does that mean when I come to ubc, ill automatically be an alpha phi there? also, at my school, alpha phi is a top tier sorority (along with kappa kappa gamma, gamma phi beta and delta gamma) and it's also a really highly respected sorority! so I was just wondering how their rep is here? its not a huge deal if they arent top tier but are they a well respected sorority?

and my last question, would I be allowed to go through recruitment again at ubc or no since I'm already an alpha phi at my state school?

thank you!! <3

No you wouldn't be allowed to go through recruitment again.

And they aren't very well respected i'm sorry :( but still give it a shot. Just because most of them aren't doesn't mean you wouldn't be. Be a good person, don't be rude and you'll be fine.

are you sure I can't go through recruitment again? im transferring from the states to canada so how exactly would they even know that I was last of a sorority before?

CANT. Youre registered into alpha phi's international system.. If you get into another sorority at ubc, it'll get found out regardless of how hard you try to hide

Y'all are all fricking idiots. She CAN go through recruitment again. Just dont tell anyone you were an aphi in the U.S. and you're set.

It's forbidden to join another sorority once you've already been initiated to one. There are international standards on this, it doesn't matter if you move to a Canadian school from an American one. Even if you transfer to a different school and they didn't have a chapter of your sorority at the new school, you would have to become an alumni rather than going through recruitment again.

I highly recommend you go through recruitment again and rush adpi/kappa/gamma phi/dg. You do not seem like the type who would be an aphi. Yes, if panhel finds out then you would get in a lot of trouble but I highly doubt there's any way that they could find out anyway. Best of luck.

If i were you I'd go through recruitment again and never tell anyone that I used to be an aphi. You'll probably have a lot of pictures to hide/delete :( I'd rather be a GDI than an APhi at UBC.

Aphi is actually a top tier sorority in almost all schools. I think it's mainly just at ubc where it isn't a top tier

yeahh I heard that as well. in most schools its usually dg, gphi, kkg and aphi who are top tier and a few other sororities that we don't have at ubc. and in a lot of schools adpi is middle tier but here it is a really high top tier so I guess it really depends on the school

Hey hey!

Excited to hear about your transfer, ubc is a great campus. If you try to go through recruitment again, your previous affiliation will pop up when they try to register you, since aphi is a Panhellenic affiliated sorority. I'm sorry that you can't go trough recruitment again!

APhi at ubc is a middle tier sorority, but I wouldn't say it's poorly respected. There are some really excellent girls and I would at least attend a couple meetings/meet some girls before deciding. You in no way have to maintain your membership if you don't click with them!

There are a ton of other clubs at ubc to get involved with if it doesn't work out with APhi. Best of luck!
