numbers, we only have certain amount of spots, nothing personal
grades aren't high enough
didn't have strong conversations, personality was lacking, hard to talk to, etc
lack of leadership experience in whatever capacity
lack of extra curriculars in general
didnt dress the part (not as important) but it's like a job interview, you gotta present yourself nicely
just be very charismatic and engaging in the convo, know your strengths and research the chapters you wanna join, you'll be fine

tbh if you didn't act very nice to some of the "bottom-tier" ones, even if they are bottom tier they wouldn't have called you back. I totally agree with asdads for those specific reasons tho. Hopefully you'll come through formal recruitment again and keep an open mind about where you will fit in

It also helps to know some of the girls beforehand, do you know any from parties or classes?

I didn't get invited back to any. Even the "bottom tier" ones. I wish I knew why! :(
