She's closer with them because she's known them longer than you, but don't worry! A big/little relationship lasts the rest of your life so if you aren't super close today or either next year you'll always have that person willing to help. I'd stick with it if I were you!

PS My big and I weren't that close before she graduated (she was fourth year when she took me as her little) but now we are closer than ever three years down the line! It's an important relationship and that may not show in just two months :)
