by: justaUBCgirlAs a recent applicant for formal recruitment, I came on this website to find insight and support of each other and so far all I've seen is nasty comments back and forth. This is making me really nervous about tours coming up this weekend. I don't feel as though I would be welcomed by some of the sisters based on the harsh unfriendly comments I have come across. I know it's not good to come in with a bad attitude but I feel as though there will be a lot of tension between some girls. I thought the UBC sorority community was friendly, supportive, encouraging and respectful towards each other.

your pi gamma will call you to inform you whether you have gotten any invites. the panhel people are trying to call everyone right now please be patient. cant wait to see you all this weekend

It's not a process of "cuts", it's a process of invitations and it very rare to have a woman not receive a bid at the end of the process.

And the sad truth is many girls will only get "invited" back to the one that accepts everybody or rather they wont get invited back at all. How else would numbers go down from 400 to a 30 person pledge class after bids day?

Hi!
Nothing could ever change my decision to go through recruitment. As cheesy as it sounds, I have dreamt of this for so long- to be part of something special and to have an amazing group of smart women support me not only as a member of the Panhellenic community but also for my own personal growth and development.
Every group of girls, no matter where you are will always have gossip and it's really just a website and although it has had some negative I can't tell you how many positive comments I've read about every chapters on campus. You girls are so beautiful inside and out.
At least we've used this thread to smooth out any wrinkles, so at least that awkward stage is out of the way! Lol

"hundreds" will NOT get dropped, that is a lie. Please stop feeding these women misinformation. It is quite rare for women too go through the recruitment and no receive a bid at the end.
