What sorority do I join?

Greek life is very different in Canada. We’ve kind of moved past the whole US sorority where all the girls are blonde, fake, petty, and only care about boys and parties. Sure we have some Saudi‘s that are more popular than the others. But at the end of the day all the stories have their good and bad sides. I would say KKG, GPHI, and ADPI are most like your typical American sorority…that’s exactly why they are ridiculed and not taken seriously. KKG is considered the top sorority, but their nickname is literally the KKK. They are beautiful, popular, and well liked among the guys. But they aren’t really valued for their intelligence, personalities, and have a reputation of being very superficial. Of course this doesn’t mean it’s necessarily true, but this is their rep. ADPI’s is seen as being one of the tops, but they’ve lost respect for being very low on diversity, and having a lot of bullying and a huge drop rate. I would say the top sorority that has maintained their reputation is GPHI. Regardless, popularity only really matters on this website. In real life it’s not really a factor. AOPI, THETA, and AGD and DG religiously get made fun of on this website and are seen as low tier. But in real life they’re some of the sweetest girls in Greek life. I will say, rep doesn’t matter, what matters is how you as a person behave and carry yourself. All the sororities are unique and have amazing groups. Go through rush and find one that fits you! Not the popular one or the one that’s liked by the guys. If that’s what you’re looking for, you’re not in the right place, and your values certainly aren’t in line with what every sorority wants in their members.

Go to a school in the US then? We don’t want you here

God we DO NOT need more sorority girls who age like this…we’re finally getting girls with actual personalities and now we got transfers who act like this💀 please go away. Join Greek life to HAVE FUN! Not to be a fake weirdo

my advice as a guy in a top tier fraternity is to join APhi. they have been the best sorority recently

If you want a real authentic experience with great sisterhood a great place would be APHI, DG, or AOII. For popularity I guess KKG, GPHI or ADPI. APHI has been coming up recently though. So has AOII but they still have work to do because they started from the bottom, but they’re working up this year. APHI was middle and has quickly moved around top this year. None of the “top strats” like KKG, ADPI, or GPHI will admit that the other strats are becoming better because well….they need to keep those strats at the bottom to keep themsleves on top. ADPI came down a lot this year. AGD for media stuff because they’re big on campus involvement. The strats are honestly are popular and liked for very different reasons so it’s tough

Kkg, gphi, dg.

However, echoing on others here, every chapter has its issues, I’ve seen kappas nms (new members) drop and go into aoii, aphi, etc. If you’re looking for an average American experience, you may not find it here. Greek life is very small compared to the USA and lots of people on campus don’t even care about it. The entire Panhellenic community is comprised of approx 800 women, which is a tiny ass percentage of the school.

Kkg- known as the white sorority (hence their nickname). Their one year where they tried to increase diversity, they gave bids to girls who barely spoke any English. Not sure how long those girls lasted.

Adpi- seems to have slipped a bit over the years with their social media but have otherwise popular-ish girls. Has cliques, and catty infighting at times (have heard this from several girls in adpi)

Agd- the sporty chapter by far. I think they’ve won the sports category for chapter of the year within the past few years and they have had several girls in big positions in the AMS, UBC Rec.

Gphi- the rich chapter, I’ve heard people who go into their rooms during rush get asked questions like what their parents do, etc. They were also caught dirty rushing a few recruitments ago.

Dg- this chapter actually has the smallest number of girls called back each recruitment round, imo, potentially putting them above kkg in terms of tiers. Overall seem nice and non judgy, fairly involved with phil and panhel

Aphi- moving up but man, the stories I’ve heard about this chapter. I knew a girl in aphi and she told me that at one formal, her big left her midway through and hooked up with her date. Oof.

Aoii- newest chapter in the group and tends to be ranked lowest. They’re not very active in the community or campus but otherwise are a group of friendly, relatively tight knit girls. They focus more on “personality” rather than looks and tend to invite everyone or most people back during recruitment rounds. They’re always doing cob because girls drop during rush due to their (perceived) rank. \n\n\n\n\n
