Inform before it happens again?

honestly as new members we really aren't warned enough - just do your best to be safe, never leave your friends to walk home alone, or in a room with a guy unless she is sober and tells you she's okay, and try and ask older girls you trust about which guys have allegations when possible so you can stay aware. I'm so so sorry, and I wish sororities could do more to protect us. hopefully disaffiliating helps.

Relax it's not as common as you think it's 1 person spamming trying to scare you. You have a much higher chance of getting in a car accident but I doubt you're worrying about that right now.

Despite there being a few members of greek life at ubc being accused of SA in the last few years, please please please don't get it in your head that frat guys just wanna get in your pants. Sure there are some creeps in the village, but I'm speaking for most greek guys when I say we just wanna get to know y'all and are very very respectful when it comes to your guys's wishes.

Lol @the people saying SA isn’t common... in my first year I was under the impression that my sorority trusted the frats 100% and we were told to take their booze and befriend them. Only after I was SA did some of my sorority sisters say ‘they never trusted those guys’. Too little too late - don’t match us with male ‘bigs’ at parties who will later take advantage of our naivety and trust of them. New members should be warned - better safe than sorry

I was once in charge of my sororities new member education. At that time I did discuss the harsh reality of SA I the Greek system. I gave tips on how to avoid it and what to do if it happened. Sororities do this. They have action plans. But sorority women should be able to
Party and drink in the community that they PAID to be a part of. Frats warn your members that there is a ZERO tolerance policy, that they WILL be removed at any accusation and maybe just maybe we will finally get to a point where we deter members and stop holding women accountable for the actions of men

I have never had an issue with the frats, not saying it doesn't happen. I am alum now but during the times that we partied (and trust me we partied) we were a full community and cared for each other if I had too much to drink that night, I would get a bunch of texts from frat boys making sure I made it home okay. Different times I guess, I am sorry this is happening now. Just be safe girls (make smart decisions, stay with your girls) and frats talk to your boys.
