SA - please read

It is so important that we hold the women supporting TH accountable for their words and actions. The harm they have caused should not be ignored.
However, we also need to hold ourselves accountable for our own actions and words used on this platform. It is one thing to call someone out, but some of the hateful comments I have seen today are on an entirely different level. Despite their ignorance, these are human beings who are going to be impacted by what has happened.
I am in no way trying to criticize the good intentions the majority of those posting have, or undermine the importance of talking about SA and holding people accountable for their involvement. Clearly a lot of good has come from this discussion.
But if we woke up tomorrow to hear someone discussed on this thread ended their life, would we all be able to live with our actions and words from today? I’m not trying to police this discussion, I just don’t want anyone to hurt themselves because of it.

I would also consider that somebody who is falsely accused who has to switch schools, deal with family, pay for expensive lawyers, and go through a court trial for months probably wouldn’t just hop back in to party life and the greek system and continue to perpetuate an unhealthy understanding of s3x. People have had other experiences with this guy as far as I know, not saying he went as far as SA, just saying that if you were to be falsely accused/ actually thought the thing you did was wrong would you do the things he does. Might be wrong here but just thought of this.

hii so I guess that you dont understand that this is a tried court case and sensitive legal information isn't just available to everyone?? and I hardly doubt that your questioning and evaluation of what happened is actually going to be productive. and regardless who would want the specific and traumatic details of the assault publicly published?

After I read all the above and @thankyou important perspective I wonder, if we feel so strongly, why we just don’t get out of our anonymous hiding place and create an open forum WITH our identities and maybe do the mature thing and have TH tell his side of the story?

Hey @also I can’t make sense of what you are saying.
If he knows that he has been falsely accused why would he not try to move forward with his life?
Our justice system, which I am told, is one of the best in the world and often modeled after, has decided, based on all the evidence gathered - “NOT guilty of SA”.
I think we are putting ourselves into a very vulnerable position on this thread if we don’t speak factual.
Once you are “trialed” for SA, the conviction rate is between 50.8%-58% depending which statistics you follow. Not the numbers what we are taught! From what I can read, this was not a “he says she says” only trial”. There were 5 witnesses plus the accused, so my logic tells me that justice Alison Wheeler (you should read up on her) believed his testimony/evidence that there was a prior conversation of consent. Witness evidence confirmed that there was also the “capacity to consent”. I am sure cases like this are never clean cut neither black and white but we have to be careful with our assumptions. Not sure what else to say. I am not interested in supporting one side or the other but I think we need context to something so flammable.

No one has more info than the article, it is the only info posted, hoping they post the full case so that people actually can understand whats going on, I believe fiji said theyll share the case with the srats when they get a copy
