Sorority recruitment

Is there a reason that girls interested in joining a sorority have to meet every single sorority, and go through a rather long process instead of letting them pick and choose which ones they want to get to know?

It’s an international rule, having girls go through all the sororities mean all the chapters internationals get members & $
