Genuine question (srat) not sure anymore

by:

Looking at the recents posts made by people thinking of rushing srats and it seems like no one cares about sisterhood, supportive communities, or anything deeper than status, binge drinking, and partying? If I rush is my pledge class gonna be like this or do the members filter out these people and look at the real intentions of the girls (not against any of that but it’s really not the main reason I wanted to rush?)

There really isn’t a lot of partying at ubc anymore. There was a lot more a few years ago but not that much anymore. You can still have fun but it’s nothing crazy, so that answers the first part of your question. Second, sisterhood is a huge deal. Especially this past year when there was almost no events apart from sisterhood events. That’s basically what kept people in.

If you end up in the right chapter for you and your values, you’ll find the sisterhood aspect. The partying is an option, and drama usually only circles around certain girls and if you’re smart you’ll figure it out and learn how to distance yourself from them and build friendships with genuine girls. not gonna expose myself, but in my PC there was barely any drama and plenty of girls weren’t about the party life, and I’m in a sorority with the stereotype of “status”. There will always be girls who join for parties or popularity points, but usually you can find other girls to be close with. Sisterhood is what bonds all of us despite those differences tho.

also guys trying to say hi _ sorority to me doesn’t seem to be helping the OP see the positive sides of Greek life or that we aren’t super dramatic.
