Sororities have disappointed me with online rush

Dear Sororities,
You are super ducking stupid for making recruitment online. What are you thinking?!?!?!?!?! There is no experience like bid day (running towards your sorority instead there will be a bid in your email-laaame) or even getting ur big (What? you are going to get to know them through zoom). Like hello? I'm confused? How am I going to do a vibe check on the sorority. I mean come on we are going to be paying $1200 to sit in front of a computer. At this point you are LITERALLY paying for friends. I am extremely disappointed and I hope you change your decision to make it online. (Or at least make all 8 sororities).
PS: You guys are going to lose so much money on this
PPS: You are excluding international kids who are going to be in different time zones so who are obviously not going to wake up for a zoom call about what are your goals???

Nobody was for doing recruitment. They wanted to push it for spring. But unfortunately panhel said they have no choice and can’t push it. And also whatever HQ days of the srat is what goes.

Panhell doesn't get to vote on decisions. We would not be doing this without the chapters voting. Panhell literally cannot do anything this major without the consent of a majority of chapters.

I understand this is frustrating but this is also a decision that was voted on by all of the sororities. Whether the reasons be finacial or otherwise a majority of chapters felt this was the right choice. As a rushee, I understand you feel you will be missing out on certain things, but this was also decided by people who have been in the Greek system for years and understand its internal needs much better than you do. Feel free to express your frustration, but as a non-member you really cannot claim to understand the reasoning behind this choice. If you are that upset then wait a year.

This was obviously made by a girl currently active in a sorority that is unhappy with this decision, not a PNM.
The reality is that universities across North America have had to drastically change how they're delivering classes in the fall, and if UBC Sororities were to hold formal recruitment as per usual, there would be major backlash both from the university and the general public that would harm the existence of UBCS anyway. Everyone is making do with the situation - switching to online classes, having virtual events, etc. - UBCS is no different.
Also, sorority formal recruitment in and of itself is kind of a sucky process. It's brutal if you're in a srat and have to spend days training and hours in the room putting on a fake smile, and it's brutal if you're a PNM. I don't know why we're glorifying a process that most sorority members agree kind of sucks and is outdated anyway.

Okay like fxck off. You think we wanted this. For all you commenters talking about panhel and 5 chapters having to vote yes yeah that’s true. But do you know that they had to vote multiple times because it kept being voted down. Do you know that some chapters HQ’s are forcing them to virtual recruitment instead of just pushing it or cancelling it. Are you even part of your chapters leadership or are you just a sister that just complains and has no idea what actually happening. Due are being reduced, we are trying our best with a bad situation. If you are a PNM that’s pissed about this then don’t rush, wait a year. If you’re a sister, help your chapter or shut up

They voted twice because it was split 50/50 the first time. They then adjusted their proposal and voted again and it passed. Stop stretching the truth to fit your narrative. Also like lmao you do realize that voting and readjusting polices is how most policies pass in the real world? This isn’t Panhell being sneaky, this is literally just a normal instance of due process. If the vote was 50/50 the first time they wouldn’t have readjusted. It was literally either that or do nothing but go off I guess.

For recruitment to be online at least 5 of the 8 sororities would of had to vote for it. It was the sororities choice.
