dropping your srat

by:

so I joined my srat in fall 2019 and don’t get me wrong, the chapter is very nice. They love to party and are a top 4, but I feel like something’s missing. I really want to have a true sisterhood that isn’t fake and doesn’t gossip about each other, and I see that in other chapters. Is it ok to drop your srat and join another one?? or is that a big no no when going through recruitment again. I’m really lost.

Unfortunately if you drop after being initiated you cannot join any other UBC sorority. None of the sororities can extend bids to members who have dropped unless it was prior to formally joining. I would speak to your chapters social standards/risk management/or whatever about your concerns and try to work it out directly bc for you, your options are either staying in your srat, or none at all. Also maybe ask a couple girls out for coffee if you are considering dropping!! It's a choice you can't undo so I would make sure I was 100% sure I was making the right bchoice before dropping

I feel like maybe this post is bait? most of my friends srats all discussed the rules about when you can drop or drop and join another sorority based on if you got initiated or not.

If you have actually been initiated into a sorority for almost a full year then you know perfectly well that you cannot join a different Panhellenic sorority once you've been initiated. You can drop but that's it, you can't be in any other sorority after that. This is obviously not a real post or genuine question. I would guess (?) you're trying to suggest that being in a "top 4" sorority is fake and not a real sisterhood and everyone gossips about each other/only cares about partying whereas mid or bottom tier sororities don't which...just isn't true lol.
