How has dropping impacted your srat/frat this year?
by: DroppingThere have been a lot of drops this year across the board even in chapters like gphi and kappa which usually have the highest retention rates. It seems to be affecting every organization this year pretty negatively especially since we've seen a large decline in recruitment membership as well. I've had a lot of friends in my sorority and other sororities and frats drop or planning to drop because of the social ban and new ifc and panhel regulations. Not getting money's worth, not enjoying the system anymore are a few of the reasons behind it. Has it been a big problem in your chapter and how are you guys dealing with it? It's upsetting to say the least.

It hasn't really been a problem in my chapter but I did meet girls in other chapters through recruitment who ended up dropping the chapter they joined. They either didn't think it was worth the money or the dynamic they felt during recruitment was very different from what they felt once they received bids. I definitely agree that new regulations will make it more difficult to see the value

I don’t think it’s sad at all. They probably just felt the Greek system was a waste of time. Liberating for them if anything

I think op is talking about retention for the upcoming year i.e. who is dropping this summer and won’t be active in the fall
I know my sorority is probably having at least twice as many girls drop out this year than usual which sucks. Our meeting attendance was pretty low this year too. I hope the greek system doesn’t end

you are right, I misread that. Hopefully this brings us all together to the way it was when it was my first year 3 years ago. I miss that, so many good times with good people :(

Well your sisterhood must suck then if girls are dropping over rules that are meant for SAFETY because my sorority (alpha phi) has had very few drops.
