Frat formal rush

by:

Rushed last year in sig, ksig and alpha delt. Thought vibed with the guys and had an amazing time, they seemed happy to meet me too, however, didn't even get an invite to formal rush. Any ideas abt what went wrong? And what to avoid while rushing this year?

Reach out to their rush chairs if you know who they are, if not then message them on their Facebook pages. It can’t hurt.

Same happened with me. I was told the following:

1. If one person disapproves, you will not be invited to formal rush

2. Even then, they may have to reduce the number of invites due to logistical constraints of formal rush

Try to spend time with the frats for the majority of rush including all of their events and parties. Get close to the rush chairs.

If you know any of the guys in the frat that'll help. Get to know the rush chairs too.

don't be creepy! not assuming you were, but if you've had an issue with a girl or been disrespectful to a guy, it's likely the frat heard about it. a lot of time frats talk to each other too if there is a big issue with a rushee. stuff gets around really quickly, and if you've had an issue with someone they often will raise it with the rush chair and if it's credible you won't be invited back.

Maybe if it makes you feel better, I don't think most people who applied to rush probably received bids anyway. Even if some people voluntarily chose to not proceed further, someone interested not getting a bid for a frat (or even a formal rush invite) is not unheard of.

I remember some form that contained a partial list of rushees, and most people on that list didn't end up joining.

frats are just like sororities if one guy doesn't like you game over. if you know someone in the frat of your choice your chances are way better. they are just as picky as the sororities tbh.
